About Us

Citizen journalism is nothing more than a "job" consisting in creating original texts from news, through curiosities (such as guides, press releases, to columns or reportages), their publication. Importantly, as we read above, it is done in the social interest – so it has a social, non-commercial and amateur character.
Someone will ask, why do it? Write just to write? That's right! As strange as it may sound, for many people editing articles is a kind of passion, the same as music or playing football for others.
Citizen journalism is an expression of an autonomous worldview that was born out of opposition to the mass media, which seems to abuse their power through the manipulation of information. This modern form of journalism differs from the traditional one primarily in that it is financially and ideologically independent. Citizen journalism aspires to restore the ideal
of reliable, credible and responsible journalism. Contemporary citizen journalism is to serve a better flow of information, and to monitor the reliability of existing ones. It can be said that there has been a certain transposition, i.e. a reversal of the previous order, according to which information flowed only in one direction. The previous recipient becomes the sender.
Notable examples of citizen journalism reporting from major world events are, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, the Arab Spring, the Occupy Wall Street movement, the 2013 protests in Turkey, the Euromaidan events in Ukraine, and Syrian Civil War, the 2014 Ferguson unrest and the Black Lives Matter movement
Despite its enormous impact on our daily news, citizen journalism is not without its flaws. The biggest concern is the reliability of the news, including fact-checking and the risk of spreading incorrect information.
